Dear ISCT Families
Welcome back to school! I trust that the year ahead will be one in which our students thrive – as learners, as curious thinkers, and as young people developing a deeper understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them.
This week, in my assembly with the high school students, I began unpacking the theme of HOPE, starting with the letter H, standing for Humankind. Part of this came out of my reading of Humankind by Rutger Bregman. One line in particular resonated deeply with me: “Few ideas have as much power to shape the world as our view of other people.” I am convinced that our belief about one another helps shape our relationships and the context in which we have those relationships, and I encourage each of us to remind ourselves of the wonderful human capacity for kindness, grace and generosity towards others.
As leaders in our children’s lives, we are committed to reminding them that there is hope, that there is goodness, and that kindness matters. Together, we will continue working to make ISCT an inclusive, compassionate, and inspiring place. Thank you for partnering with us in this journey, for sharing our values, and for helping ensure that these values resonate far beyond words on a page. Here’s to a great 2026!
Until next week,
Kascha Reed
