Dear ISCT Families,
We’re excited to welcome everyone to our annual Community Picnic next Friday evening from 17:00 to 19:30. Join us for the students’ Sunset Concert and take this valuable opportunity to connect with fellow families – both familiar faces and newcomers alike. Feel free to bring your own picnic or purchase a boerewors roll from our Year 12 Fundraising portfolio.
As we begin the school year, we’re delighted to welcome new families to our community. Just as we support students through this transition, our dedicated Class Reps are here to support you. They oversee class WhatsApp groups and organize social gatherings throughout the year. If you’re new and would like to connect with your Class Rep, please click this link to find your child’s year group representative. If you see that your class does not have a Class Rep perhaps you would like to volunteer.
The Community Picnic is the perfect occasion to introduce yourself to new faces and strengthen the bonds that make ISCT the warm, nurturing environment we all value. We look forward to seeing you there!
However, community is first of all a quality of the heart. It grows from the spiritual knowledge that we are alive not for ourselves but for one another. Community is the fruit of our capacity to make the interests of others more important than our own. The question, therefore, is not ‘How can we make community?’ but, ‘How can we develop and nurture giving hearts?’ Henri Nouwen
Until next week,
Kascha Reed
