Let the Adventure Begin! 

Phew! What a hot few days! The children thoroughly enjoyed their swimming lesson today and are very excited for you to watch them next week.

We are also looking forward to seeing everyone at the picnic on Friday – it promises to be a lovely day together.

On Friday, 13 February, your child may come to school dressed in red, white and/or pink to celebrate Valentine’s Day. At Struben House, we use this opportunity to talk about love for our families and all the special things we appreciate about them.

In the spirit of the day, we will be collecting donations for St Luke’s Hospice. The cost for the day is R10, however you are welcome to donate any amount you wish. A Karri invite will be sent out shortly. If you have not yet downloaded the app, please do so to ensure you receive all notifications.

Read Write Inc Information Session

Thank you to all those parents who responded that they are interested in attending our Read Write Inc workshop.  75% of respondents preferred the morning option.  We will hold our workshop on Thursday, 12 March from 09:00 – 10:00.

Recycling Week 4

Nursery: 1 wheelchair token

Year 1A: 2 wheelchair tokens, 1 trolley

Year 2L: 36 wheelchair tokens

Last week our Year 2s worked out that it takes about 1200 bread tags to fill a bucket so well done everyone! It is also 15 items of food to fill a trolley and 60kg of paper and/or cardboard to save a tree! Let’s do this!

Reminders

We have half term coming up on Thursday, 26 February. There will be an early close, no ECAs, although there is aftercare. No school on Friday, 27 February.
